Buntingford (Away) – 26-Aug-17
Buntingford (Away) – 26-Aug-17 (report by Richard)
Another successful away trip for the Friendly team! A hard fought 4-3 win across 4 x 12 minute quarters was enjoyed by all. The Watford team was:
With such a large pitch we played 8-a-side with a rolling sub.
Buntingford have only been going a few months but are well organised with pre-match warm-up routines, and a kit, pitch and referee all provided by combination of government and local council funding as part of getting older folk moving. We hope to arrange a return with Buntingford at the Meriden soon.
Goals from Rob (2), Glenn plus a deflection were enough. Goalkeeper duties were shared by Andy, Terry (2 Qs) and myself. We NEED a dedicated keeper!!!
Special mentions for:
– Glenn’s goal (he described it at length afterwards but I don’t have enough room to put it all in this email, please feel free to ask him to describe it next session…)
– Terry who came straight off a night shift at work to play!
One new addition to the WF format was the retreat to a local pub afterwards to discuss and analyse the game in great detail among ourselves…or at least have a pint and bite to eat ?. It was great banter. We concluded this activity was a good thing and should be repeated.
