Teams from as far as North Yorkshire competed in four leagues, with the winners of each progressing to the semi-finals.After five round robin league games, Dover, Grangetown, Watford and Clacton Knights topped their respective leagues and moved out of the caged pitches and onto the open main pitch of Margate FC.

After five round robin league games, Dover, Grangetown, Watford and Clacton Knights topped their respective leagues and moved out of the caged pitches and onto the open main pitch of Margate FC. Dover secured a place in the final by dispensing with the Knights, whilst Watford edged past a spirited Grangetown side.

With the far larger finals pitch, Watford played their expansive passing game and took a lead. It was short-lived as a Dover player burst through the middle unopposed and slotted home for a crucial equaliser. There were to be no further goals, so it came down to a penalty shoot-out, and despite having a goal waived for infringing the one-step rule, Watford kept their cool and outscored Dover for the win.
