Middlesex (West) FA Over 60s League Round 4
Big thank you to all who participated on Sunday for the last of the 4 Middlesex FA Walking Football League – West sessions, run by Mick Geraghty and his team at the Hillingdon Sports Centre. The Watford team was depleted due to several injuries meaning call ups for Al Cutter, George and Gary late in the day. While Andy R managed to bring the kit and organise the paperwork, he immediately sped off to nurse his long term injured knee with a pint of something.
Colin Sills (GK)
Richard Manning (non-playing manager for the day)
We started with 3 games (ON/OFF/ON/OFF/ON) then had nearly an hour wait on a very cold morning. The team at that point retrenched to the changing rooms! Having started with a draw against Luton where we the better team (usual issue of putting the ball in the net!), we followed with two narrow losses to Hemel and Cove when we competed but these were probably the right results. The final game after the break was poor with Uxbridge still competing on the league where we had no interest. The game became a physical which was a disappointing way to end the campaign which, for the most part, had been played in good spirit.
Anyway, well done to all those who contributed to the teams over the Autumn league, and to Andy R for managing the team. Restarts with a taster session in Feb and then 4-session league March to June, all 1st Sun of the month.
